Williamson County Crime Stoppers Visited Liberty Hill ISD and was pleased to donate several 55-inch television monitors for the High School, Middle School and Intermediate School. The TVs will be mounted in common areas of the school so that students can view current school notices, upcoming events and be reminded that the Crime Stoppers Safe School Program is available for them to report any criminal activity, school violations or suspicious activity.

Crime Stopper Board Members Tom Clark and Bob Cermak had donuts & coffee with Liberty Hill Police Chief Maverick Campbell and members of the community at the Malted Grains Cafe, 1004 Loop 332 in Liberty Hill on August 30th, 2019. There was a great turn out and we thank all who attended and afforded us the opportunity to explain how the Williamson County Crime Stoppers program operates.
On August 23RD, 2019 Williamson County Crime Stoppers donated four 55-inch TV Monitors to the Jarrell ISD. On August 12th, 2019 the Williamson County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors donated two additional television monitors to the Granger ISD. The TVs will be mounted in common areas of the Junior High and Elementary Schools so that students can view current school notices, upcoming events and be reminded that the Crime Stoppers Safe School Program is available for them to report any criminal activity, school violations or suspicious activity. Last July two monitors were donated to the High School and have been enthusiastically received by the staff and students.

On Saturday June 15th, 2019 Williamson County Crime Stoppers Board Members Llorente Navarrette and Joe Derrick were at Dell Diamond promoting the Crime Stoppers program. Sergeant Brien Casey and Deputies Hoffman and Lundry of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office helped them pass out promotional items to attendees of the Round Rock Express game, including miniature baseballs for the kids.
As part of its Safe School Program, Williamson County Crime Stoppers Board Members Sam Jordan and Joe Derrick donated two 55 inch Television Monitors to the Hutto ISD on April 11th, 2019. The TVs will be mounted in common school areas so students can view current school notices, upcoming events and be reminded that the Crime Stoppers Safe School Program is available for them to anonymously report any criminal activity or school violations.

Williamson County Crime Stoppers was honored to host the years first Cross Check Meeting on January 9th, 2019. Cross Check is a gathering of representatives from all of the law enforcement agencies in Williamson County and a few state agencies, organized by the Williamson County Attorney's Office, that encourages the sharing of information and activities among the organizations. Working together makes Williamson County a safer place. The main presentation was made by Sergeant John Pokorny of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Cold Case Unit. Sergeant Pokorny gave an overview of the Special Investigations Unit and explained the origin of the Cold Case Unit, how they work with the victims’ families and the resources they have available to help other agencies with cold cases.

Crime Stoppers Trustees Tom Clark and Bob Cermak had a great time on September 29th, 2018 at the Round Rock Public Safety Days, held on Centennial Plaza. Thanks to the Round Rock Police Department for the invite.
Crime Stoppers Board Members Tom Clark, Sam Jordan and Bob Cermak were joined by Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody at the Austin Police Retired Officers Association monthly lunch on September 12th, 2018. Tom Clark explained the purpose and mission of Williamson County Crime Stoppers and its Safe School Program. Sheriff Chody described the importance of keeping up with new social media apps in order to reach out to the students.

The TVs will be mounted in common school areas, so that students can view current school notices, upcoming events and be reminded that the Crime Stoppers Safe School Program is available for them to report any criminal activity or school violations.
The Safe Schools Program operates as an umbrella program under the guidance of the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors. All High Schools and Middle Schools in Williamson County are encouraged to use this program on campus and engage the student population to report criminal activity or school violations. Any information provided is guaranteed to be anonymous and successful tips can qualify for a reward of up to $200.00.
This project, which began about 3 years ago, meets Governor Abbot’s School and Firearm Safety Action Plan recommendation to “Expand Crime Stoppers operations and launch an awareness campaign for school employees and students to encourage the reporting of tips related to school crime.”
